-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Nix,
Thanks for these kind, wise and extraordinaire words. It's just that he - along with Forrest - was one of my childhood heroes, even before the fantastic/brilliant cartoon FILMATION gave us in 1986.
'F TROOP' was a big hit, or so I heard. You're right.
Said that, we should open the "Younger Brothers's Club" one of these days... ! LOL.
You're great, Nix.

Have mercy, what does "red headed stepchildren" mean? Sorry, Prime. "Red-headed stepchild" is slang for an outcast, like an unwanted addition to the family. You can't ignore it, but you will and do mistreat it. Most commonly used as "I'll beat you like a red-headed stepchild."

This is quite silly from their part, since FILMATION created the name & the concept. They must learn from History books. ;D

This is quite silly from their part, since FILMATION created the name & the concept. They must learn from History books. ;D Well, I'll definately give you that Filmation had the name. But the concept of paranormal investigations and eliminations goes back further than Filmation. Specifically, Bob Hope's "The Ghost Breakers" comes to mind. Plus, each set of Ghost-Chasers (for lack of confusion on the names) had a different way of actually dealing with a ghost. In the 50's and 60's - it was more of an investigation expecting to really find just a person behind it. Then Filmation came in the 70s, with the idea of approaching ghosts directly and sending them away from our time/dimension. When the movie came in the 80s, the approach was now "to catch a ghost and hold in indefinately."

When the movie came in the 80s, the approach was now "dealing with ghosts in the same manner that the Orkin-Man deals with any common pest." Fixed that for you, and, on that note, I'll add that the Columbia GBs left a pretty indelible mark on popular culture: when anyone sees a professional exterminator, the first thing they think of will be the Ghostbusters. Mental note: start up an extermination business where employees wear safari gear as their uniforms.

That's precisely what one of my friends told me after I took off my gear: "Ya know, in just the jumpsuit, you look just like to Orkin-Man."

The Orkin-Man? Orkin is an extermination company. All of their commercials have made a fun of the superhero premise with "Orkin-Man" for dealing with all types of bugs that you just want gone. Well, before they upgraded their uniforms to include ties, the ran around in jumpsuits
