I do not know if there is a previous thread regarding this, but I wanted to post something
Where to start.. mhhhh... I watched both Filmation and Sony Ghostbusters, and I already did my pros and cons years ago... Sony serie has interesting characters, good plots and subplots (even if sometimes too twilight zone), and artistically is more than ok(I do not remember if the animation staff was japanese or korean tho).
Filmation in its GBs, as for He Man, had the habit to recycle sequences (at least once for episode you had to watch the whole procedure of lift/changing clothes/boarding Ghostbuggy, and the stuff is long!), plots are.. well, aimed for a young audience, characters could be developed better since some have the mental deepness of a broken lightbulb; ending morals (arghhh) drawings and backgrounds are on standard Filmation style, but here is mainly personal taste
Well, I liked Sony GB, but my vote goes to FGBs, I watched the whole serie and I would rewatch it again gleefully today - I do not know what sort of magic forces me to do so, but... personally I think that FGBs its still today a serie with MUCH potential; well, I have to confess that several times after an episode ended I had a bitter taste in my mouth - the characters could be developed way better, my fav one is Prime Evil and why on the earth he is so cute and sweet in his malicious attempts if he is EVIL? children aimed, feh, they could rewamp the whole serie doing evil characters really NAUGHTY(you understood that I am for the baddies team, eh), with more serious plots and subplots and sometimes allowing to baddies to win
Sorry for my rant, but I would to see those GBs really improved and more 2000-like, since new generations should know and appreciate how things of the past are not all bad and not all have the patience to watch the old series...
I will post in the Skelevision area some remaking of characters and places I have in mind (non-canonical, so do not kill me for my restyling), but I will try to not stray too much from the original model
That's all, regards from your mad undead artist!
