Somehow, I get the feeling that we can keep Jake and Eddie's fathers alive to pass the torch at the beginning of Act II, and Tracy's finding Jake and Eddie can be replaced with a phone call from Mom and Dad telling them to come visit them back at home. Here, they inherit the keys to the penthouse office (Ghost Command) and to the company car (the Ghostmobile). They also recognize Tracy from the Castle McDougal case.
We could get a lot of humorous mileage out of Jake and Eddie constantly putting their dads on the comm-links and asking for advice! Spenser is thoroughly engaging, even losing his train of thought and going off on tangents about older busts, whereas Kong is short, to-the-point and even gets a little bit irritated. "Trust your instincts," he implores them. "We won't be able to boss you around forever." However, neither of them know how the new equipment (the Ghost Gummer, the Spectre-Snare, the various ghost-sensing gadgets, etc.) work.
I also figured out a use for Airhead: Prime Evil sent him to a Middle East peace conference with the intent of keeping it from occurring. Despite being a ghost in the form of a mummy, Airhead doesn't actually have a lot of mummy-like properties, and is even a bit stupid, so Prime Evil makes all the "mummy's curse" stuff happen.

I had a crazy idea the other night that some of the Ghostbusters' technology (specifically the camera/visor they use to see ghosts) is adapted from Martian technology recovered after the invasion from 1953's The War of the Worlds--their "ghost camera" is based upon a Martian surveillance device that used a three-colored eye (red, blue, and green) to spy on Gene Barry's character.

This may come as a shock to you, Devil, but I strongly believe that a live-action movie of FGB has a pretty strong chance of getting made if the cartoon comes back in popularity within the next couple of years.

Are you trying to accomplish a 3-dimensional effect there? I'm not sure how well it's working, but, in any event, go find yourself a copy of 1953's The War of the Worlds and watch that scene.

Got it completely wrong it turns out..... Odd that there is no red in the actual Aliens view, but the eyes have red/blue/green.

There's a bit of red; it's just lost amid the blue and the green. And yes, that's exactly what it looks like. It's not so much as looking through a pair of goggles, but seeing things through tinted lenses with the aid of a special camera.

Almost forgot: I need to add a section about sound design.
--One thing to keep in mind is, the MK-I Dematerializer radiates energy, whereas the MK-II projects energy forth in a single, tremendous blast. Therefore, the sound of the former should have an almost "warm" and continuous quality to it, and the sound of the latter must have a lot of force and "kick" behind it.

While I'm not as aware of the power that drives the device, or pretend to understand it, I can say that MK1 is without a doubt weaker than MK2. Not that this really isn't known already. Like the "other" ghostbusters, the equipment upgrades became a part of the whole busting thing, and ghosts found in FGB versus the OGB were a stronger group, and Prime Evil could not be stopped by the MK2 by itself. If I'd guess, if the series continued, a MK3 would have been made that would have been a much more stronger shot.

No, no, you're mistaken here: my comment was a reminder to myself to include a section on sound design for the movie, and what you read was meant to be a "guide" as to how they should sound.

Here's another thought for you: if I ever go to write the script, I'm going to try to find a way to have Prime Evil reference "Snoo-PING AS usual" at least one time.

It might be interesting if I re-introduced BraveStarr's Tex-Hex into the FGB canon.
My thought is, he's the only real ghost of Prime Evil's gang, whereas the rest come from Prime's magic/science hybrid. A long time ago (relatively speaking), Bravestarr was forced to kill his archnemesis, a decision which spurred him to retire his badge once and for all.
The villain found his way into Prime Evil's good graces, if he ever had such a thing, shortly after he died. However, T-H doesn't work directly for Prime, but serves as a loose cannon-type 'enforcer.' He's the one ghost who leaves Prime Evil with a bad taste in his mouth, as his tactics are somewhat overly sadistic.
