Rather disturbing shades of Rei Ayanami there... God, I love NGE so much. Uh, actually it never occured to me to think of a parallelism. Kudos.

There are some things that need answers, like: If Tracy is the same character in the 1975 show and the 1986 cartoon, then why do Jake Jr and Eddie Jr seem surprised to see Tracy in the first 1986 episode? Surely they met Tracy as they were growing up...right?

This could prove the fact they "covered" their Ghostbusting activity for a very long time in their lives, that's why Jake & Eddie Jr. never met Tracy before.

Also, they were unaware to GB and really how ghost command was. And in "Back To The Past" It appears the Sr. live in a house elsewhere.

It seems like the Ghost Busters used the Ghost Command only for a very few time in the past. And, of course, they didn't know about the special equippment. It makes sense.

The first episode, "I'll Be a Son of a Ghostbuster", in the mines when they found Scared Stiff. Well, even Tracy 1986 displayed superhuman strength, so I guess Zero's crew genetically-enhanced the cloned bodies.

In "Father Knows Beast" from GB86, Slort says the Ghostbusters stopped him 40 years ago (1946, I assume), so why doesn't Tracy seem to remember Slort The Troll? My theory is that it happened before Eddie and Jake Sr even met Tracy.

My theory is that it happened before Eddie and Jake Sr even met Tracy. They were active in 1946... Oh God. Your theory holds up pretty well, but now we must revise the timeline. Or maybe Slort was referring to some predecessors.

Hehe...my guess at 1946 (if Slort said "40 years ago" like I recall) is only correct if we are to assume that FGB86 was actually set in 1986. However, whether I'm right or wrong, it was worth it to see your reaction! Ha!

If he was referring to "the Ghostbusters" in a very generic way, well, that could be interpreted like he had to deal with some predecessors, and not Jake and Eddie Sr.

The sons confirmed it in the dungeon scene before Jake used the two way communicator to contact their parents at Ghost command for which jake kong sr said he remembered Slort. What interests me is Tracy doesn't remember, therefore he came on board the team after 1946. Or he didn't go to bust Slort the first time, which may help in dealing with tracys age. he is appently the youngest of the sr. ghostbusters.

Okay, Devil. It makes sense. If they started in 1946 (presumibly at 20/25), they must have been 50/55 at the time the first series is set ( 1975). AND now we know the 1986 cartoon kinda aknowledges the fact they are older than what they look and so someone/something "rejuvenated" them! I love when continuity doesn't betray us fans.

Well it looks that the age of the 2 sr. ghostbusters was the ages of the actors that portrayed them in the show. Forest was 56 when he did the show in 1975. Storch was 52 back then. I bet thats what they based that 40 years thing on.
