One of the earliest "Godfather" parodies?

I just had a moment of insight over the past weekend, when I sat down to watch the whole Godfather trilogy (I'm still recovering).

I think The Ghost Busters was one of the first kid's shows to refer to the films--in "The Maltese Monkey," Larry Storch's Al Capone not-a-like says "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse" just before Kong dematerializes him.

If it isn't the first, it should be. The show came out only three years after the first film, and only one year after the second.

Nix, I think you're right, there must not be many references in other medias at the time.

Is it me or Eddie Spenser Senior could be a reference in toto?

Ah, but, it wasn't Eddie. It was the Al Capone ghost, whatever his name is.
