On Saturday, the Retro Television Network (RTV) presented the first episode of "The Ghost Busters" ("The Maltese Monkey") instead of an episode from the animated series ("Outlaw In-Laws" was scheduled, according to TitanTV) based upon it. This was the first time I had even seen the first series after seeing the animated series for the first time last year when RTV began showing it.

I have both series on DVD. In germany the Live Action series has never been shown on TV, so I tried to get it in other ways. This year I succeeded getting the DVD box. I love this show - as much as the cartoon.

It looks like Retro TV realized there's a huge interest behind both the series and a kind of resurgence of the FGB mythos. Keep us informed if they'll air new 1975 episodes.

RTV presented the second episode ("Dr. Whatshisname") of "The Ghost Busters" today. Both episodes presented so far each had only one commercial break and each break occurred after the opening.
I was reminded of the game "Pictionary" and the TV game show "Win, Lose, or Draw" while watching the scene of Tracy drawing an eye and a doughnut to express the phrase "I don't know".
Both "The Ghost Busters" and "Ghostbusters" are distributed by Classic Media. The TV listings at Zap2it, TitanTV, and TV Guide still "Ghostbusters" for RTV.

We should contact RTV and inform them about our forum, they could spread the link... I'm 100% glad they are airing the classic series too, the one which "started it all".

RTV broadcast the episode of "The Ghost Busters" titled "The Vikings Have Landed" after an episode of "Mister Magoo" today. Jim Backus, who did the voice of Mister Quincy Magoo, was in "The Vikings Have Landed" (RTV has broadcast other episodes of "Mister Magoo" along with episodes of "Gumby" before "Ghostbusters" and "The Ghost Busters" in the past).

I wish I could have seen that episode, because what I know in that episode, Spencer plays the saxophone and I've been wanting to see/hear that for a while now. But as of two weeks ago, my cable provider bright house, switched retro tv to attena tv so I can no longer watch any of the filmation ghostbusters unless I aquire the dvd's now.

My local RTV station will be switching to Me-TV programming by Monday, September 26th, which means I will not be able to see the broadcast of the final episode of "The Ghost Busters" on the following Saturday after having watched the series for the first time since RTV began presenting the episodes.

Hello Neomanga, the FGB DVDs are terrific, do a favour to yourself and go to Amazon or E-Bay. By the way, welcome girl...

I'm going to be ordering the live FGB DVD (at least) as soon as I can next month to enjoy the show as it should be enjoyed in it's uncut form! RTV had a little bad habit of cutting out small bits and pieces of the show to make room for cartoon extras like thingy Tracey before the next airing of the day's programing. Dr. Jeckyl And Mr. Hyde being one of the episodes I remember that had an obvious cut or two. And thank you! ;D one little question though, is it ok to post in older threads if they haven't been posted in for a while? (like over a month or two at least. Never saw a rule stating about old posts.)
