So, just out of sheer curiosity, how many of us started out with the "Celebrity/Just For Kids" videos, or, if you're not living in the United States, whatever VHS line distributed Filmation's Ghostbusters?
Me, I remember them as being very, very common in places like K/B Toys and similar places, so much so that they were often 2 for $5. And, whenever I'm at a toy show or something, I feel that I'm far more likely to find an FGB video than an RGB video, but don't even get me started on the toys...
By the way, you can imagine the irony I felt when I discovered Volume 1 of the Filmation's Ghostbusters DVDs at K/B Toys, for $10. Strange, isn't it, how your past comes back to haunt you when you least expect it?

Strange as hell, FILMATION'S GHOSTBUSTERS was a smash hit here in Italy - but they never produced a VHS line! I mean, the toys had stellar sales, a cool sticker album was also published (guess what, I bought it), but they never produced an official/unofficial video release. That's because in mid/late eighties cartoon videos didn't sell at all (at least in my country). I suppose.

SHOCK AND AWE!!!
Well...they were quite common over here, but the quality of them is pretty dire these days. I'm planning on getting Volume 2 on DVD, as that one should contain most of the episodes from the tapes, but I'm also thinking about converting the VHS tapes to DVD as well, so that I can keep them for posterity.
Sure hope the tapes "record" if you know what I mean; they might have a special coding that prevents them from taping...

I still have 6 or 7 of the ancient tapes with that little boy at the beginning telling you to get big brother or big sister to help you with something. I forget offhand. I think it was adjusting the tracking on the tape lol
I was debating whether to get rid of them with the DVD set released! Likewise with my RGB/FGB tapes from way back when it was first on TV. I have tapes where its alternately an episode of RGB then FGB etc. Though watching the ancient looking version once in awhile creates a great sense of nostalgia.

It was indeed an "adjust the tracking" reminder. Dear God, I think there might be some stories about him floating around on the Internet. I'll have to have a look...
EDIT: The lad's name is Noel Bloom, Jr. He's the son of Celebrity Home Video's founder, Noel Bloom, Sr.
I wonder what either of them is up to these days?
