I agree with Zack. The scope of the original show wasn't too wide. Little details give clues, though. Like Kong waiting to see if he gets any birthday cards in the mail. Since he gets personal mail at the office it seems to me that he doesn't have any other place of residence but the office. I dunno. I kind of see their ghost busting gig as more than just a job, but a higher calling of sorts. Whomever "Zero" is, he found these three guys to do this special and important task for the good of the city/state/country/world. For as little as there is to go on (strictly speaking about the live-action series), I think the cast and crew did a great job.

Or maybe... since he divorced(?), he just considered his office like a sort of "base" to handle such delicate affairs.

Zero as Prime Good may feel, to me as well is the key to understanding the 75 series as a whole. Much was tied up thanks to the cartoon actually, and my feeling is Lou had more plans for both shows than we got to see. That is why, we as a forum should seek out a interview with Lou or his daughter. Anyways, They both had to be sleeping somewhere in that place or elsewhere. The interesting thing that I never hear anyone talk about in the Animated series is that the two sr. ghostbusters now seem to live in the same house together. Not trying to suggest anything are we..... ! ;D
However, if true, this may help answer some of the unanswered questions.

As for myself, I could easily think of the animated series as an alternate world/universe apart from GB75. Kong and Spencer look younger in the first cartoon episode, and Tracy is brown instead of black (and wears shorts). I watched the cartoon as a kid, but do not remember much beyond the first episode (mostly because it's included on the GB75 DVD set).
