Okay, we all know how the guys change clothes, and they clearly didn't get to design the place as it was already there when they took over the Ghostbusting biz from their fathers. If you were a FGB, and you could design your own Skelevator (and maybe had some of that future tech from Futura to help out lol) would you keep some elements of the process or change it all together. I know that Tasha is terrified of what the guys go through lol, and Jakey isn't fond of the trapeze and slide (neither am I, because I'd get dizzy Here's my idea for the perfect Skelevator... I'd start off with how it starts with being zoomed to the other dimension. When the doors slide open, I'd be a brave but a little nervous as I'm lifted by the hand. Instead of being thrown though, I'd have the hand carefully set me into the energetic web/net. Then I'd wait patiently while my clothes were teleported off my body, leaving me in just my underwear (shoes and socks off too) Then I'd have the hand grab me again and take me to a comfy chair (unlike the one Jake sits in) and plop me down. Then the chair pops out a foot rest and I put my feet up and relax while the chair takes me toward the dressing area (only I wouldn't whistle like Jake) Once I go through the curtain, I let more skeleton hands help me into my Ghostbuster uniform with fresh socks before stepping into my boots. I rise from the chair and stand patiently on the conveyor belt like on an escalator at the airport. I receive my gear just like Jake does, and wait until the conveyor belt comes to land (or a flat surface) then I hop on a slide, and go down on my rear. Going through a tunnel, I then fall onto a soft mattress in the garage. Then I stand up and carefully get into The Ghost Buggy. And after I returned to Ghost Command, if it was late, I would go through the Skelevator again and type in a code to be undressed and dressed in pajamas and slippers. My clothes would be teleported into a laundry basket, waiting to be washed and dried Anyone else have a perfect Skelevator process they'd like to share?

I´ve thought about this for quite a while now. Well, here are my thoughts: Why don´t just change clothes like any normal person does by stepping to your closet, opening it, getting your Ghostbusting uniform out and dressing up in front of the closet´s mirror? Okay, just kidding. I know that would be boring . Well, as for a transformation sequence that I needn´t to be afraid of and that would be okay for me…. Keep the Skelevator! Keep the conveyor belt! Keep the robotic hand, but don´t throw me into the energy net, put me gently into it instead. Imagine: What if the hand didn´t work correctly and I would miss the net? What´s behind it? Some kind of spooky void filled only with ghosts or something? Keep the skeleton chair! It could only be a bit more comfortable. Maybe add a pillow to it. More skeleton hands in the area we never see in the sequence because it´s hidden from our view are a nice idea. Or what about another energy net in which your uniform materializes on your body? Keep the machine from which I receive my ghostpack, my belt and my communications device. But leave out the trapeze and the mattress! It´s way to dangerous! The boys must be very lucky because they never miss the trapeze let alone the mattress…… I like your idea of a slide at the end of the conveyor belt, zacht, that leads directly to a mattress in the garage. This would be great fun! And I wouldn´t hurt Ghost Buggy anymore because I could enter the car simply through the door. GB would be forever grateful! Great idea! I love it! Those are my thoughts about my personal transformation sequence . In the cartoon, the sequence always looks crazy and funny, and at least Jake seems to enjoy himself a lot, but if you took a more realistic look at it, the procedure could be very dangerous! Imagine what kinds of accidents could happen? Geez……

Thank you for your input Jakey Would you also prefer the energy net to teleport your shoes and socks off too or would you like to remove those yourself (or let skeleton hands help you out of them if you're lazy like me Another energy net wouldn't be a bad idea either, for the bit we don't see. But I have to admit that I like extra pairs of hands helping me get dressed. Yeah, the chair Jake rides on doesn't look all too comfy lol. A pillow is a great idea but I would want two. One for my head and the other for my bare feet on a raised foot rest (picture a Lazy Boy recliner with wheels lol) Crazy and funny, yes? Dangerous? Perhaps, but I would make sure that every nook and cranny was safe beforehand (saftey first

You´re welcome ! Yes, that would be more practical. Having to remove my shoes and socks myself while hanging around in the energy net would be really silly and unnecessary. I´d prefer the energy net! Jake seems to enjoy it . Okay, but have you ever thought about what could happen if Prime Evil ever discovered the secret transformation room? Maybe he would come up with some devious plan to sabotage it… Besides, any machinery, well-maintained or not, can break down .

I did actually think of something like that, not necessarily Prime Evil per say, but I did wonder about that when I watched Maze Caves episode. In that episode, it was all too easy for Prime Evil's henchman (forget his name lol, the pirate ghost) to turn into a pillar of smoke and creep into the Skelevator. But what puzzled me is why it wasn't on the main floor, ready in wait for the guys to use lol. I could see Mysteria and Flip Face sneaking into Ghost Command while the guys are out, and discover what the Skelevator is used for. How do you think, Prime Evil and his comrades would sabotage it? If I were them, I would let them go through the "Changing Room" but instead of them wearing their uniforms, the guys are still in their boxers. And instead of receiving their gear, the hands spring out and tie them up. Instead of the trapeze they are dropped by another skeleton hand that scoops them up and sends them through the slide and bouncing off the mattress. But instead of Tracy releasing the trap door, it would be Flip Face Then instead of landing on GB, the two join a tied up Tracy in a padded cage. Then the cage is transported to Prime Evil's lair, and it's up to Futura and Jessica to save the guys, or their dads.

Yeah, that was scary. Isn´t Ghost Command equipped with all kinds of ghost alarms? Doesn´t this include the Skelevator? Or isn´t it under surveillance? Eddie (and maybe Jake, too) would freak out if he knew how easily a ghost can infiltrate Ghost Command! (By the way, the pirate ghost is named Longjohn Scarechrome ) Hm, that´s strange. I always thought that the main floor was the Skelevator´s usual "parking position". When Jessica once used the Skelevator it came down from somewhere. Maybe from the roof because Jessica landed there with her Newscopter? Yeah, Mysteria and Fipface could be clever enough to discover the Skelevator´s secret! Are you sure you don´t work for Prime Evil ? That´s some nasty plan! Getting trapped, being put into a cage and brought to Prime Evil while still in their boxershorts would be a desaster and quite embarrassing for the poor boys. Worst case scenario! Hopefully they don´t catch a cold. Please don´t let good old Prime Evil ever hear about your plan .

I should work for Prime Evil, I'm sure he pays better than my current profession Just kidding, I love the guys too much to let my greed get the better of me Yeah, it is a nasty plan, but I just can't resist a chance to put Jake in a position where he's in his undies. He's so cute (in either blue or pink) especially when he gets embarrassed like in Mummy Dearest Eddie looks good too, but I always liked Jake more... I don't think they'd catch a cold though, they're tough. Perhaps Prime Evil will give them prison pajamas and slippers Or maybe they wouldn't be in their underwear at all, maybe they have their uniforms on but no GB gear. I can go with either, but I prefer them with no clothes, more fun that way Oh darn, was I not supposed to post that on Prime Evil's website. d**n, hope he doesn't take me seriously

I wonder, does he pay his henchmen at all? The boys will be forever grateful! Yeah, that was a very sweet scene. By the way, I prefer the pink boxershorts on him. Well, he cares for the boys in his own way . Back to topic ! I forgot to mention that I´d like a Skelevator that doesn´t tend to disobey my orders and play bad jokes on me. When I say "Stop!" that doesn´t mean that Skelevator´s allowed to take me to a rude trip right through Ghost Command´s roof.

Okay folks, here's my idea of a perfect transformation sequence (for me): Imagining, I would have to go through the transformation - and Jake wouldn’t allow me to change clothes the normal way - Tracy would have to do the following modifications: 1st he would have so install stairways as an alternative to get to the platform, because I’m suffering from claustrophobia. I’d like to have an escalator with safe handrails because of my fear of heights. The e skeletor leads to a platform where also the skelevator has it’s stop. From there you can step on a conveyor belt, just like the one we know – but with a floor directly unter the skele-belt, so there’s no need to fear heights! Like a big hall with all the clothes changing equipment, and with no space under the belt to fall into. The conveyor belt leads directly through the energy net, so that you don’t need to step aside. There would be all unnecessary clothers removed. (All except the boxer shorts! ) The belt leads then to a platform at it‘s end with a second energy net, next to a control panel, where you can choose, which clothes you need. For example you can choose from »uniform«, »street clothes«, »pajamas«… Maybe, if there’s an emergency, the panel could be programmed by Tracy while the first part of the sequence runs, to save time. From there leads a second skele-belt to the machine with the skeleton hands vor the device, the belt and the ghostpack. Here I wouldn’t change anything. This part is perfect – at least if you don’t act like Eddy. But with the first part revised I’m sure he also wouldn’t have any problems with it. Now the conveyor belt leads to a platform at the other end of the room. Here you get to a slide that leads directly into the garage, on a mattress nearby GB, so you can enter the Ghostbuggy through the doors. That’s it! I think, Tracy could do it! He’s a genious. And I’m sure Eddy would be very thankful, too, as well as GB! Another idea of a little modification - if the big one isn’t possible so prompt - would be parachutes the boys get by passing the mattress, so they could land soft and slow on GBs seats. That would be a wonderful compromise for the poor car. And I think for someone who suffers from acrophobia this would be more comfortable, too. ;-)

I joined this group mainly so that I could share my thoughts on what could be my favorite part of this series to talk about, the Skelevator.
For the perfect Skelevator, I’m with Tasha’s design. But I don’t mind it as it is. While we’re talking about it here are some theories I have on how it operates, including why it treats Eddie like it does. These are just some things I’ve thought of over the years, and if something in canon contradicts them please forgive me.
First of all, I like to think that if for some reason you missed the web you wouldn’t fall off into a void, there would be other arms that can show up anywhere that would grab you if you didn’t hit the web. In fact, I like to think that they would grab anything that fell (more on that later).
It’s pretty much a certainty that the web only teleports all clothes besides underwear off of Jake and Eddie, not disintegrate them. But you’ll notice that it leaves their shoes and socks on, yet they are both barefoot after leaving the web in their next scenes. While some would cite it as an animation error, I like to think there are deleted scenes. Here’s how I think they go.
Jake jumps off the web. As he is falling his arms are grabbed by 2 mechanical arms that look like the one that threw him onto the web except smaller. They are 2 of the ones I mentioned that automatically catch anything that falls. They gently lower him onto the chair on the conveyor belt, where 2 more mechanical arms remove his socks and shoes and take them to wherever the rest of his clothes are. Then the conveyor belt starts moving backwards, and you know the rest.
Now for my thoughts on why the machine treats Eddie poorly. Eddie annoys the spirit/intelligence/whatever of the Skelevator by not jumping off the web. It feels disrespected by the idea that he doesn’t trust it so it kicks him so hard that it literally knocks his socks and shoes off, which explains why he’s barefoot as he goes flying into the changing machine (as I like to call it). The shoes and socks are picked up by the back-up hands and they take them to the same place his clothes are.
So that’s my theory about why Eddie always gets the short end of the stick. If he just jumped off the web, he would be treated as well as Jake. I like to think that if they had done another season, they would have changed the transformation sequence a bit. Eddie would jump off the web like I said, and be treated well for it. Jake would say something like “I kept telling you to just jump off the web, and after sixty-something times you’ve finally got it.”
Why have I done so much thinking about this? Because on Deviantart, I found a person who is not only taking requests (pictures you don’t have to pay for) but is willing to draw long, 10+ page comics for FREE if she likes your idea. So what did I ask for? A 13 page comic showing Jessica AND Futura (who’s staying with them for a bit because she wants to take a tour of their time) using the Skelevator to change into THEIR Ghostbuster outfits (in my canon, after the series Jake and Jessica get married and she becomes a Ghostbuster)! While it is a cool idea, you know the main reason I’m doing this? I look forward to seeing them in their undies. Hey, some of you people prefer seeing Jake and Eddie in their underwear, so it’s only fair I can have the female equivalent of that. I’m a guy, and while I like Jake and Eddie the sight of them in their underwear doesn’t do anything for me. Showing Futura and Jessica in their underwear would be some of the best fanservice ever! I got the idea from this Twitter post talking about a female reboot of Filmation’s Ghostbusters.
Specifically, the line about how doing the transformation sequence with women could prove problematic. I personally thought that was a great idea, and asked myself why I had not thought of it before then. I recently saw a trailer for Ghostbusters 3, and while there were some funny moments it looked like there was too much rehashing of the first film in it. So I thought that if they could remake a lot of scenes scenes from the original movie except with women, surely I could do the same thing with a scene from Filmation’s Ghostbusters.
I was originally going to create original characters who are Jake and Eddie’s daughters, but then I thought why not use Futura and Jessica? To be honest they are my favorite characters. I think they’re both very attractive. I’ve even commissioned pictures of them in their underwear already! I’ll be posting them in Transmissions from the Skelevision in a minute. The comic will basically be like the sequence we see in the show, with Futura replacing Jake and Jessica replacing Eddie. Futura has used the Skelevator to change before and she enjoys it, but this is Jessica’s first time so she’s weirded out by things like the web that zaps her clothes off and gets embarrassed by that so she doesn’t jump. She is kicked off the web, but that’s the only rough treatment she gets. The Skelevator goes easy on her this time because it has a soft spot for lovely ladies like her. I imagine that on Jessica’s second trip through the Skelevator she remembered to jump off the web and never made that same mistake again. It will also show the deleted scenes I mentioned that show the removal of their footwear, as well as a page of Jessica inside the changing machine. Not getting dressed, but still I always wondered what it looked like on the inside. It will stop shortly after they get dressed, because I wanted to keep the page length down as much as possible.
But it will be a while before the comic is drawn. The artist (rockofmarduk) has 16 different requests to do before mine, so it won’t be coming soon. I’ll share it here when it’s done.
So, what do you all think of my ideas?

Wow, great post, my friend That would be great, to see Futura and Jessica go through the Skelevator transformation. Be interesting to see the shoe on the other foot (or in this case, off the other foot lol) Speaking of shoes, I also agree with you (as far as deleted scenes go) on how Jake loses his footwear. But with Eddie, I always thought the same arms caught him after he was kicked off the web, and another set of arms came and removed his socks and shoes before continuing him on his journey while pretending he's Superman Feel free to message me anytime, I like discussing Ghostbusters. I'm more intrigued by a female reboot of Filmation GB than RGB. Although I used to think about how interesting it would be if Amy and Kris from Ghost Hunters became Jake and Eddie's replacements, because they found their true calling.... No disrespect to your idea though. I just never considered it since the two of them are from different time zones

Them in their regular clothes before gearing up to fight ghosts. Only being women, I think they'd have different clothes for every day (no offense ladies) I always thought Jake and Eddie wore the same clothes because they were following in Einstein's footsteps. He believed that if he wore the same clothes, he could save brain power.
