Something I'm not losing sleep over, but have never been able to work out:
In the opening credits, he's called "Spencer", which is logical, since that's how you'd expect it to be spelled.
Except, on the door of their office and in the DVD book, it's "Spenser". With an "S".
So, has it ever been confirmed, or at least agreed upon, which spelling is the right one?

Hmm looking at it now. Every new DVD set says Spenser with an S on the back on the boxes and inside the booklet. That goes for the cartoon and the live action show. The old volume VHS releases I have of the live action show say Spencer with a C. Looks like they could never get on the same page either.

Welcome craud ... The dispute for the Eddie'e surname will never end ... However we must consider that the names of the characters Filmation was inspired by Spencer Tracy (Eddie Spencer Tracy the Gorilla) ... In this case should be Spencer ...

Except, on the door of their office WELCOME Craud, a big welcome... don't disappear, please... well, that is the only *DETAIL* that truly matters, since it's a "visual" one... so it's Spen ser. Definitely.

Here is my take on the whole thing: Spenser.
Since the joke was that "Kong" was the name of Forrest Tucker's character, when you would expect "Tracy" (trained by Bob Burns) to be called "Kong", since he's a Gorilla, that leaves Larry Storch to play "Spenser". But I think spelling it "Spenser" was also part of the joke, instead of spelling it just like the actor. And that whole joke from start to finish is just hilarious to me, because it is so amazingly silly!
But then there was a goof/blooper in the opening credits - they called him "Spencer".
And after that mistake, those VHS boxes of FGB75 took their spelling from that, as did Mr. Storch in his interview with us, I assume - though he may feel it's "Spencer" because of the whole "Spencer Tracy" gag, like Scuotiossa mentioned.
(Unless they purposely put two spellings to make the show EXTRA crazy!? Who knows. But I love the show!)
But I think it's part of the gag to spell it "Spenser" instead
And of course FGB86 says "Spenser" all the time on the box, etc. right?

As is written in the office door of Ghost Busters. However in the same end credits of Filmation, is sometimes given the name Spencer ...
