i don't quite like the investigation thing, it has to be a straight in your face shooter game IMHO I've always considered the Filmation Ghostbusters to be more like detectives rather than exterminators. However, when you've "solved the case", you then have to find out where the ghostly culprit is, and work your way through that building/area, which is full of ghosts. THEN it becomes a third-person shooter--I've never liked 1st person shooters on account of how there's no peripheral vision (well, almost none). Have you ever played James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing? That's my benchmark of how any 3rd-person perspective game should work.

Well, if something, the 1984 Ghostbusters's uniforms remind me of S.W.A.T., while Jake and Eddie's suits are very vintage. Yes, detectives but - above all - adventurers. So I would say that the CGBs are "warriors", the 1975 GBs are detectives/investigators, while the 1986 GBs are adventurers. Indiana Jones anyone?

I will give you that with the uniforms. Jake did have the safari jacket, and they were always heading some place exotic. But here's a talking point: Even though Columbia GBs were the exterminators, while FGB were adventurers - CGB's always had "equipment" - taking the science aspect of things. They weren't referred to as "weapons" in the movies or cartoon series (at least by the GBs themselves). It seems to me that the FGBs were the ones who had "weapons." - They didn't "contain" spirits/ghosts - they actually dematerialized them to where they were unable to stay in our demention, al bet temporarily. Discuss....

Oh. More investigators that fighters, you say... a good idea would be a two-dimensional side scroller, as Luigi's Mansion for Gamecube, in which our crew explores old houses, and since they are not so advanced technologically they should examine and move almost all items at hand, you can think the consequences when our friends open, uh, an old grandfather clock and a mad spectre jumps out, scaring them, begins to dash around the room and you have to bubble or dematerialize him, action is granted. Stuff to collect, as some particular item quota, or some power up, or simply food to replenish energy/stamina could be interesting... Also, some "break" along the several house-stages with our flying buggy shooting to ghosts in the best Gradius fashion, with power pods to be collected, could be a good idea or we could put Futura with her chopper to do this. Ansabone could be used to find missions to do, Skelevision could be used to see datas of ghosts vanished so far... I do not remember FGBs have some kind of ghostputer, so we have to arrange with what we have A bit retro and old style, but we do not want to render FGB with Unreal Engine 3, no

I do not remember FGBs have some kind of ghostputer, so we have to arrange with what we have The Dead Letter File could store records of ghosts you've already defeated, and as for "finding" the ghost, you'd take a few clues over to Madame Why and she'd use her crystal ball and computer databanks to analyze the clues.

Oh, hey, hey, I got one.
The Skelevision functions as both an ordinary television and a kind of Time/Space Visualizer. Different channels give you different areas: one channel puts you in contact with Futura, another puts you in contact with Madame Why (the clues), one channel gives you a look at Hauntquarters (NOTE: Sometimes Prime Evil talks to *you* on it!), and the other channels are just regular TV channels, although you'll sometimes see Jessica reporting on some ghost sighting.

I like ALL the ideas people have posted in this thread! Like Tracy's hat skelevision could be used to insert cheat codes or such places for jakes desk to scram through references like VHS covers revenge of prime evil Yeah! Ha, the codes could even be the UPC numbers on the back of the FGB VHS boxes! (I can say that, because we are dreaming, after all - but if we do have a millionaire game making genius among us, then I'm more than ready for them to get started!) (im learning programming maybe someday i make a game for u guys:D:D) Excellent! I cannot make games, but if there's anyway to help you make the game despite that, let me know! I don't need any credit, I just would like to help out. Now the next thing I will say in this post is just crazy, so feel free to skip it or ignore it, BUT: Nix, about the regular TV channels you mentioned for the game, I almost said, "We could have computer animated versions of GB75 on the TV at times! " But then I realized that would be confusing. Afterall, in their world their fathers did NOT have a TV show! Ha. So I guess we won't have GB75 on the TV in the GB86 style video game
