I know that there are older threads covering this issue, but they got so heated and a fresh thread on this is so much easier to read I really never cared who was first or how much money a film made, so keep both out of this, and play nice. Anyways, the arguments I gathered here are based on development of the shows and animated tastes. Personally, I still perfer many of the Ghosts in RGB over FGB, and the heroes as well. The animation in FGB is actually mostly better than RGB, however some reused stuff gets annoying after a few watches.

There is no "viable" COMPARISON. It's like comparing apples with potatoes. Both are unique. It's not about the title or the basic concept anymore. It's about development, vision and soul. Either the GB teams are unique. That's why we ALL should get along with it... peacefully. Now... why SONY/COLUMBIA GB FANS keep hating us?

Now... why SONY/COLUMBIA GB FANS keep hating us? Thats actually a interesting question. Let me give my thoughts on the possible reasons. I've noticed that a lot more of the fans for RGB and related are either from the USA, UK, or Australia. My theory is that it has more to do with showing times and promotion than actually how the shows turned out. Like where I lived in IL USA, FGB never aired in the area where I grew up. NBC had mostly news on saturdays, and no cartoons on the weekdays. And I'm thinking my local station wasn't the only one. ABC network had RGB on at 9 am in a prime spot on Saturday morning. So anyways, how could someone care about a series they had never seen? Anyways thanks to the internet and youtube and other video sharing media, FGB has recently seen more fans like me that are discovering the other GB. Don't be mad at them Prime Evil, pity them. lol ;D

Devilman, Interesting, fascinating theory. The 1986's FGB series was a big hit here in Europe, as well as in South-America. I hope more and more Sony fans (like you) will realize BOTH the FGB series are pure genius. If that happens, this forum would be open to them (of course). It's still open to them, anyway.

I dunno, people like to obtain identity by the things they like...look at how people are about their sports teams..not only do they "love" their team, but they actually hate others. Why?? Makes no sense to me, personally.
I have always loved both shows. The more Ghostbusting the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah its a shame some can really be a stick in the mud when it comes to FGBs. Sure theres a movie to back up the cartoon series, but as a fan of RGB, theres a fight between the movie fans and RGB fans on canon. What has surprised me is how RGB was trying to follow the movie as close as it could, but then GB II came out and completely derailed that. Anyways, thank god the fans of FGB don't have all the infighting.

Devil, I totally felt in love with your Ghostbusters Wiki banner, you're great! Thanks! Yeah I took a good sized screencap of the intro and played in good old Photoshop. I had battled with Sony's Ghostbusters logo already, so at least I knew what would be needed for filmations.

Devil,
I guess (just my guess) that more and more Sony fans are rediscovering both the FGB shows... isn't it?

Eh, when sometimes I go on youtube to search for some old intro, or some song or music video, I like to read the comments of people...
FGB's intros has lots of negative comments usually - people call it a rip-off of Sony GBs and such, and even if often some wise soul post the story of real live show /Columbia movie/ FGBs/ RGBs, people do not dig in previous pages to understand why there are gorillas in the show - or maybe people has nothing to do and they like to forum-flame everywhere, who knows?
anyway... live and let's live... and soon or later FGBs will regain its rightful place I hope. Peace.

Shade, The "usual" trolls/flamers, they will never die. Internet is infested. What about a gang of "TROLLBUSTERS"? Sounds original... I've read few of the negative comments, they are pathetic.

I really think if you are a true fan of either GB franchise you will love and appreciate both just as much! One thing I agree on with what was said about Sony GB'S is that there is tons of hate among the fans. One thing im really tired of is people constantly trash talking one another because of disputes between the movies and cartoon series. They are both good and people need to just be greatfull that there are two Movies two animated series and an effing bad a** video game coming out in a week!
Now I really hadn't watched FGB's since I was 8 but a buddy of mine just let me borrow the animated series set and I was rolling!! I forgot how funny and awesome the show was! Both shows are unique in their own ways and each deserve the same amount of respect!
One thing I have noticed that im older is that the creators of the FGB'S really worked their asses off to improve on the original premise of the live action series in order to compete with the RGB's. It really shows in the cartoon plus that catchy theme song! I mean they had to come up with something to compete with Ray Parker Jr.
Anyway the members on this board all get along and its kind of nice to escape other sony GB boards. Besides this site actually talks about the franchise and its not some D*CK measuring contest to see who has a better proton pack, uniform, ect!
