Alas, it's sad to see that REALLY Filmation created their GB franchise to "milk" people following the wave created from that Columbia movie that was licensed on THEIR old, live action serial... a long chain that created confusion and still today is subject to uncountable flames in fan forums or even more "neutral" grounds as YouTube; leave a sour taste in your mouth But even it was all started for paltry economical reasons and they invested few resources in their own serial, it's worth to point the fact that this small gem has still today a decent fan-base and it's slowly growing, EVEN if the RGB vs FGB war continues. I believe that after all, FGB serial had and still has something magic

It seems that filmation had a choice between finding a new show, or going ahead with adding to the Ghostbusters mytho.

Thank God, the chance of a Filmation's Sony Ghostbusters cartoon never materialized. Give me Kong, Spenser and Tracy all the time. LOL. The 1986 FGB series built up the real mythology. The old 1975 serial just sparked the flame.

Great point Devil! I wish all the people who bash FGB (on other boards and websites) would realize that about the original cartoon deal. Although as Prime Good said, I am glad we have the FGB show, but the principle of it remains. Both FGB shows are quality in their own way, and just as worthy of attention as the other Ghostbusters, I feel.
