Hi, there, and welcome to the first edition of the official Batman 3 betting pool. In this space, you get to post your predictions of major plot threads and things that you think will happen in Christopher Nolan's third Batman film.
Naturally, we're not using real or virtual money. So the stakes will be bragging rights for when the movie comes out. In other words, you'll be able to say "ha-ha, I told you so!"
And away we go...

My first prediction:
I bet you dollars to doughnuts that...the "yellow background/black bat" color scheme will return to the Batsuit. Here's how: there will be a firefight at the beginning of the movie, and, even though Batman gets there in time, someone dies. He decides that he must sometimes make a target of himself, and so he lines the bat emblem on his chest with ElectroLuminescent Wire so that it will glow yellow on command.

The Riddler as villain. Robin Williams will distance himself from Heath's Joker rendition and thus develop a totally different character: intelligent, lucid and cold - no psychotic behaviour, just overall weirdness.
It will be the end. Batman retires. Then come back for one last shot. He finally wins and drops his Batman identity forever.

I sort of like it, though I've still got my money on David Tennant in the part.
Here's mine:
The new Batmobile is another Wayne Enterprises/Lucius Fox prototype, except this time it's a car developed for the CIA, designed largely for stealth and surveillance. Bruce and Lucius modify one of the prototypes even further, adding the big thruster, extra weapons, and bat motif.

I'm looking forward to the villain being Bane, and played by Tom Hardy. Hardy is a good actor (first saw him as Praetor Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis) and I'm interested in seeing how they interperet the character for Nolan's Batman series. Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman will be interesting as well, though I've never been a fan of that character.

Also, Batman isn't really the type to stop doing what he does. Some writers have speculated that he does it as a form of self-therapy for a crippling case of PTSD.

Jesus, I don't wanna Catwoman involved in this, hopefully Nolan will make up his mind.

Yeah, but I'm just happy that they're making another film. Batman Begins was good, The Dark Knight was better, let's hope The Dark Knight Rises (don't care for that title) will top them both.

I liked Batman Begins when it came out, and then saw it too much on TV. I really liked The Dark Knight when it came out, but it hasn't held up on repeated viewings (which happens with a lot of comic book movies). I'll definitely see the new one, though.
