I've just read on WIKI that Tex Hex was originally created for the FGB series, which would instantaniously explain why he got a lavander-tinted skin! It comes out as a total surprise to me the fact they created the whole BRAVESTARR universe starting from the sole character of Tex Hex. Frankly, I love the BRAVESTARR series (pretty much ahead of its time if you ask me) but I don't see what's so special in the Tex Hex character. I found Stampede as being more fascinating and frightening. Anyway, the FGB guys on New Texas... that would be a true blast!

It comes out as a total surprise to me the fact they created the whole BRAVESTARR universe starting from the sole character of Tex Hex. I caught an episode or two on QUBO Night-Owl a few months ago...blasted insomnia. I can tell you from this that Tex Hex also has the phasing abilities of the FGB ghosts. Also, the thing about Tex Hex is, Lou just thought he was wasted on FGB. Were I alive and 24 in 1986, I'd have taken him to task on this--he could have been the ghost that even Prime Evil hates! (Indeed, he cropped up in this manner in at least one of my FGB Movie concepts.)

I utterly agree. Tex Hex is just average. Bravestarr is an interesting character, his universe is pretty rad (and original), but Tex Hex is just plain boring.

I never knew that. Tex did look like a character that could have been on FGB though. A futuristic outlaw ghost.

I used to love that show as a kid, the drug abuse episode was one of the best that was ever done.

Ok, I'm a huge Bravestarr fan and obviously I love Tex Hex.
Sure Stampede is a more 'badass' bad guy, but Tex Hex is not all evil (there are episodes dealing with this). He was a normal guy but got caught up in greed and became evil.
He is a 'fallen hero' much like Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in a kind of way...

This is a fascinating "twist" in his background. "Bravestarr The Legend" (the movie) and the episode "Eyes of the Beholder" touch upon Tex Hex past. In the episode "Eyes of the Beholder" we learn that Tex Hex had a girlfriend named Ursula that he neglected because of his greed for 'kerium' (going so far as saying something like 'nothing matters more than kerium'). In the movie we see Tex Hex being more 'human-like' (not 'skull-ish) in his face and whit black hair. Him and Scuzz are having prairie people mining kerium for them. Stampede feels Tex Hex 'evilness' and greed and transform him into the skull-ish look and gives him magic powers.

"Bravestarr" was way ahead of its time, fantastic series.

Thanks for the info MurderCapital i never watched the movie and now i think is a must!!For me Tex-Hex is a cool villain and i can imagine him in the FGB series. He reminds me a mummified Fu Manchu in a way...when we were kids a good friend of mine in a ''fanboy discussion'' tells me that he is the same person with Eddie the Head you know from who?And that She-Ra was the legendary Isis from the old cartoon.
Oh...what a good childhood we had...On my opinion i prefer Vipra(hot!hot!sexy!sexy!) and i love to hate Hawgtie as a boy in a grey uniform i am.
