Last night I was reading "When the Moon is Full", and it was spelt "DematerialiSer". Since all the other names were 100% correct, it made me wonder what's the official in-universe spell of the iconic weapon's name. And what about the spell in the original 1975 series too? Needs a bit of investigation (see the scripts). Anyone got a clue about this? Anyway, "When the Moon is Full" is a very sweet and pretty tale. Could be a potential storyline for a cartoon episode. I love the fact it kinda "hints" the predestination paradox ruling the FGB timeline.

From LA Ghost Busters Episode: "The Maltese Monkey" From animated Ghostbusters Episode: "I'll be a son of a Ghostbuster" The Real Ghostbusters had inconsistent names for items too, during its run. But both filmation shows spelled it the same in scripts for respective episode 1's. Also here it is one more time in the 1986 series bible:

Hello there. Haven't been here for quite a long time and just read this. It might have been that the author who wrote it with an 's' is English or has learnt British English. American contains very many z's so FILMATION tended to use that.

LOL, for a while I thought that "Whose history?" was referred to the frequent time-travelling happening in the series...

In the German version the Dematerializer is either called Dematerialisator or Dematerialisierer. Both words are just different expressions for one and the same thing.
The term Dematerialisator was used more often and sounds better I think.

I agree with nixfgbfan. It's likely spelled differently depending on where you're from or even personal preference. It's the same principle with these words: "realize" and "realise" or the color "grey" is "gray" too.
