Yes, I figured what the hell, I'd give it a go. Thanks to Nix for the "inspiration" to try and get started. I really wanna see this through to a finish. First here are some reference pics for anyone wanting them.
The worried logo on the pack always looked kind of sketchy as opposed to the well done one on the scene transitions so who knows what the way to go is.
I had some money burning a hole in my pocket and couldn't resist buying stuff. Keep in mind, words won't ever say how much of a ROUGH ROUGH thing this is. I got a few dark red tote bags, some white and black craft fabric, some snaps in hopes of making the buttons on the pockets, we'll see.
Looking at it now, I really do wanna see this through, there's a lot of work ahead I suppose. Any more thoughts? The ghost is VERY crudely cut in paper over black fabric just to get an idea of what I'm attempting to accomplish. Obviously the final one will be very carefully planned and thought out.
I'm thinking the one bag might be long enough. Save for a few animation spots, the packs look to be pretty short. The bag is plenty wide to cut a big circle from and it is probably about 13 inches long. I probably won't do too much until I can figure out how I wanna get started. Take some measurements I suppose.
yeah I thought about it's more of an oval shape last night going over stuff. The figures packs are misleading We'll see what I have to work with. Yeah I think I'm definetly gonna want to give it some structure to keep that thick look.
We'll see what happens. I probably made the logo a bit big there too. It's gonna be some work that's for sure.
Well right now it's just a lot of preparing and figuring out. I had some construction paper so right now I'm trying to get a feel for whats gonna work best on a person like me as far as size and whatnot. Lots of planning
This will likely be modified a bit, the thickness might vary a little too. Feels good to be working toward something though I think what might work best is having the bottom part be a strap with a button snap and the whole logo is a flap that comes up to open the pack. We'll see!
lol in a way I kinda felt bad for him because no one really seemed to care about the printable proton pack but he's pretty arrogant in all his other posts and seems quick to shoot down peoples hopes etc. I wanted to be like "dude, you can't really...wear it" I mean it's all in good fun but at the end of the day, spend a little more time/materials and make a "real" one. It's smaller than the RGB pack and is essentially a waste of printer ink lol
Then again I'm trying to make a prop from a lesser known 22 year old "ripoff" cartoon, so I guess I can't talk ;D The shape will be a little better when I get to work.
I'm amazed at what you can do with construction paper!
That makes two of us. I'll see what I can get done when I get back over to my parents house where I left all the stuff. I'm sure I'll definetly need some help where sewing is involved ;D It looks like if it really does come together, it should be pretty cool!
hadn't really even though about it. I looked around a bit and sort of got excited when I saw some stuff lol I think the straps from the tote bag will be pretty usable and durable. I hadn't though about it needing to be super durable, as far as stuffing it full of gadgets and impossibly sized things We'll see what happens.
You should check out the recent custom pics I did over the weekend. It's a crying shame that the FGB figures aren't as customizable as the RGB figures, y'know? Nice detailing and all that, but you really can't do customs with 'em to any extent.
