Quick update for any Chicagoland Go-ers: Chicago TARDIS is going to be at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in 1 week from Saturday, in Yorktown, IL (but you already figured that out). The guest list for this year is: - Colin Baker, the Sixth Doctor
- Elisabeth Slade, Sarah Jane Smith
- Nicholas Briggs, voice of the Daleks, Cybermen, and a bajillion other monsters and aliens
- Paul Cornell, writer of "Human Nature/The Family of Blood"
and a host of other personalities.
I think we've got Ian Marter, who played Harry Sullivan, as Ghost of Honor this year.

Sounds like a terrific menu. Talk about our forum/cult!

I was witness to Doctor Who's PBS premiere October 1977, it was the story ROBOT, and i loved it at first sight. I went on to see uncountable hours of it, (im probably in the BBC records as the most prolific viewer in the U.S.) and studdied it to exccess. I must confess that i did have mixed feelings about the show that came back a few years ago, I liked Eccleston and i liked Billy Piper (i made a point to tell her that the first chance i got). But while Tennant had some good episodes i tend to remember the bad ones more clearly. Doctor Who lost much of it's magic due to RTDs refinneggling it into what he wanted it to say, we can only hope that the change in producer will set things strait.

I think the first four actors to play Doctor Who are the best, with Tom Baker as my favorite! I think Peter Capaldi had great potential, but they very rarely gave him a good script! It's a shame.

The two films starring Peter Cushing are neat, too!

Sadly, I've come to look less and less like either David.
I've also come to find myself falling out of love with "Who." No, it's nothing to do with Jodie Whittaker's announcement as the new Doctor; it's more that I just don't really have as much time as I used to have for it!

I think I have a solution to the Who-blues. Since this is "the year of the new Doctor," I'll start re-running the Summerfest again.
It gives me an opportunity to remember where I came from!
- Day of the Daleks
- The Three Doctors
- The Five Doctors
- Pyramids of Mars
- City of Death
- Earthshock
- The Twin Dilemma
- Ghost Light
- The Curse of Fenric
- Survival
Plus an assortment of New Series episodes.
