At the end of it's run, "The Real Ghostbusters" was called "Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters" and was mainly about Slimer getting intro trouble with dogs and cats. (There were others too, but this is an idea of how different it was.) But sometimes the Ghostbusters would show up for a cameo.
Now, I loved it. I loved it because I loved Slimer (still do) and as a kid I enjoyed his adventures. And I never once thought, "Why aren't the Ghostbusters around much?" I didn't mind. Although I was a fan of the show before Slimer took over, too, it was just so much fun when Slimer took over.
I still love the "Slimer!" shows today for the same reasons I did then, and one more reason: So many die-hard CGB fans hated when Slimer took over, so when I watch it now, I crack up imagining the fans watching it and getting angry!
Having said all that, if there were a show called "Belfry! And Filmation's Ghostbusters" and it was a similar type of show, would you like it?
