I went through ilikefgb's commissioned comic series where Jessica and Futura get suited up in the Skelevator recently ( filmationghostbuster.proboards.com/thread/741/comic-futura-jessica-transformation), and it inspired me to dust off an idea for a story I had a while ago about kind of a sequel series, and this helped me modify it a little to having a new team in a new city with new ghosts. Based on the idea of female busters from the failed movie, thought the heroes might be Jake and Eddie's teen daughters or nieces, to have a linking element to the original. Seeing the comic series had me thinking of adding Jessica and Futura along in the new office acting as mentors who lead the team and help train the other two girls, maybe another character. Don't want it to get too big. I'm leaning toward calling Jake's successor Gina, and having an ongoing plotline instead of unconnected episodes, but that's about as far along as I am right now. I'd love to brainstorm the idea if anybody's up for it, and if/when more material's developed I'd post it here until I feel it's ready to start writing a few chapters.

VERY Rough Team Line-Up Ideas-
As noted the leaders of the team would be Jessica and Futura, mentoring a pair of newbie busters. Futura would be mostly stranded in the present with some limited contact with her own time. I'm probably adopting fanon that Jake and Jessica would be married at this point, and she'd be in charge of helping to open a new Ghost Command on the other coast.
The main characters I had in mind are Gina Kong and Evelynn "Lynn" Spenser, Jake and Eddie's nieces who are helping out at the new office partly out of inheriting the family business, and to earn money for school. Gina studying nursing and Lynn studying engineering, and being the closest thing to an inventor the team has.
I don't really see the group having a Tracy analog. Rather a group of occasional helpers who rotate in and out from chapter to chapter. The first one I'm seeing is your standard "monster with a heart of gold" who actually helps them fight other monsters. I'm leaning toward either vampire or werewolf, probably werewolf. Normally an ordinary guy, but can monster out sometimes, which always destroys his uniform to his embarrasment once he changes back.
Possibly a family-friendly version of a vampire hunter.
Lastly I'm thinking of a genie, once a human princess trapped in a bottle for centuries and now with some magical powers. Kind of saw her being introduced by having the prince of a fictional Arabian country coming to recover her after she's stolen, and then sticking around when she makes her first decision for herself, to stay with her new friends in the busters. The prince would be a handsome and charming fellow, wielding a sword that can banish ghosts, and he make Gina and Lynn feel all embarrased to be around him during the transformation.
* (I feel I should probably make an effort after that to say there won't be any R-rated content, and nothing more intense than hugging and kissing out of the romance. But probably the occasional Mummy Dearest-style wardrobe malfunction. That said, it wouldn't be FGB without the transformation sequence, and I think it's still understandable to get flustered when you're next to somebody you really like and neither of you have clothes on...).
I see the new Ghost Command having a bunch of haunted items around it, but I don't want them all to be the same ones (with the exception of Skelevator, of course). Right now I'm seeing a tempermental washing machine at least.
As for villains, not sure yet. Prime Evil and his gang are an obvious choice but he just seems a little out of the league of a largely rookie team.
I can see Zero and Madam Why making appearances to provide assignments for the team. And I kind of want to have the son of Mr. C from the original show appear at some point.

-I LOVE your ideas. The only problem I’d have with Futura being stranded in the present is if she never got back home, but as long as she does so at the end of the story it’s fine. Speaking of which, I really love your idea of a storyline that continues throughout the series. Almost every time a show has one it makes it both easier to binge through and easier to watch it again.
-Their nieces sound really cool. I can’t wait to see them.
-The idea of having a rotating cast of friendly spirits is awesome, and using them in place of another Tracy will help separate this from the original cartoon. My favorites are the genie and the prince. My only confusion is, why would he be going through the transformation sequence? Would he be joining the group and getting a uniform to fight ghosts in? that’s the only reason I see him needing to go through the transformation.
Speaking of the suit-up sequence, you said something about working the kinks out of it. Maybe they have an updated Skelevator that sends you into the dressing machine BEFORE you’re stripped to your underwear, giving whoever is going through it some privacy. That said, I still really like your idea of the prince going through the sequence with Gina and Lynn providing some romantic tension. It could be very entertaining.
-No problem with that. I can’t wait to see what sort of wardrobe malfunctions you can come up with. I’d really love to see how these characters react to the transformation sequence. It would be really entertaining to see their expressions at having to go through that. I can imagine that much flustering will occur for both male and female parties, probably because they are younger. For whatever reason, I see Jake, Eddie, Jessica and Futura having no problems going through it because they really know each other. Even after Jake and Jessica marry, they trust each other not to do the wrong thing. Just looking at someone of the opposite gender in their underwear isn’t necessarily a sin; it’s a way to appreciate their beauty.
-Again, that’s great. Keep the feel of the series, but don’t rehash it. I’m sure you could come up with some very cool haunted items.
-I agree about the villains. Have them deal with low-level threats, then work their way up to higher level foes like Prime Evil and his gang.
-You should definitely do that. Show that you’re not forgetting anybody from the past.
This is such a good post. It will be very exciting to watch this story develop.

-Well, maybe not permanently stranded but stationed here for various reasons so as to be a regular cast member. I think we can all appreciate more Futura, yeah? She couldn't really stay FOREVER though, no, I guess. What would Morrow and Laser do without her? I just don't see time travel being a regular thing. With a cohesive ongoing plot requires a more stable setting than the cartoon usually had. -Thanks, you definitely will see them. -Well I think of these characters as "part-time" busters, the werewolf, genie, prince, etc. so yeah they'd be taking part in the transformation sequence and wearing uniforms too. Most of them, anyway. Not necessarily carrying around the same weapons as the ladies, though. I think it'd make them more distinct to have their own tricks and tools. -If there's anything that should be fun to write and update some, it's the transformation part. Mainly I'm planning to make it a place for characters to interact, but there will be others, and I welcome new inclusion ideas. Uniform damage is probably going to be more of a way of life for this new team than it was the old, on top of that. -Yeah, suppose I'll make a list of all the everyday items that could be fun if living and haunted. I do at least have a couple of "essentials" picked out. -Yeah, the villains are looking to be the tricky part unfortunately. The villains for the first chapter I have in mind are picked out, but that's about as far as I have right now. I have some ideas for places to look for inspiration, though. Trying to focus on mostly "proper" supernatural creatures (I still don't know what the heck a "ghost robot" like Scared Stiff is supposed to be).

That makes perfect sense. I really can’t wait for your pictures of them to come in. The part-time buster idea is awesome. Maybe you can have them go off on certain missions where their unique talents are needed the most? And yes, give them each their own distinct weapons. I would love to see an updated version of the transformation sequence. Already you’ve made it more than just a way to fill up time and provide fanservice, it’s a place where we can see more of the characters talking. I take it that Gina and Lynn’s conversations will be different every chapter? I’m sure that whoever’s going through the sequence with them will affect what they talk about. Speaking of updating the suit-up process, you think that this time the web could remove their shoes and socks as well as their clothes? I’m just saying, it would make the process a bit faster as well as a little more visually appealing. And like I said, as long as you don’t make it too humiliating for the heroes or have it affect them in a negative way over time (like having self-esteem issues or eventually not caring about modesty anymore) I will have no problems with it. It’s like I always imagined this right? They lose their clothes, get embarrassed for a bit then kick the butt of whoever did this to them and put some more clothes on as soon as they can. Maybe they can carry spare uniforms in Ghost Buggy or whatever vehicle takes them to where the action is. Well, I could always help you try to find less well-known supernatural creatures you could work with. Like say you could use the Krampus for a Christmas episode. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KrampusI’ll really have to start digging through obscure monsters to help you.

unseenunsealerRegarding Scared Stiff... I hit the same quandary when I was coming up with ideas for my FGB movie treatment. I decided that he'd be like B.E.N. from "Treasure Planet"--a robotic castaway on some asteroid, and Long John Scarechrome picked him up as pirate booty and imbued him with a soul. Scared Stiff gets his name because he usually remotely hijacks spaceships' computers, but is utterly useless in any sort of combat.
