haha I had watched it recently and actually remembered him being kind of a pathetic guy.
"I'll get those Ghostbusters for what they did to me Callahan!" "yes, Mr Peck"

Funny enough, he looks like Jake Kong's evil uncle --- I can see some facial features similarity there, guys! Love the safari look a lot, I suppose we can describe the uniforms of our Ghostbusters as being "post-modern safari".

I'm starting to think Eddie's got just a little bit of the "18th Century vampire hunter" going on, with the long coat. Matter of fact, don't you think all of the Filmation Ghostbusters have a slight Steampunk vibe to them?

Steampunk? Definitely.
The Ghost Command house and its interiors (especially the hidden ones) are very steampunk-like, for instance.

Actually, I take that back. The heroes are Raygun Gothic, and the villains are Steampunk.

Forgive me for not explaining myself.
The term "Raygun Gothic" applies to any kind of futuristic or "Space Age" design. Think of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow or even The Jetsons. It's kind of that crazy, retro, optimistic look that has since dated but gone on to create a kind of "timeless" sense.
Though this means Cpt Scarechrome will have to redecorate his ghost ship!

Raygun Gothic crossed with Steampunk, a bit of Cyberpunk too... seems like our Ghostbusters created a whole new "transgender" look, an hybrid between more and more contemporary alternative styles.

I wanna make a ghost pack SOOOO bad..just for the heck of it. I'm wondering what would be the easiest thing, go buy some maroon colored fabric and get some sort of heavy material to make the backpack? Maybe just to have as a backpack to use, practically

I wanna make a ghost pack SOOOO bad..just for the heck of it. I'm wondering what would be the easiest thing, go buy some maroon colored fabric and get some sort of heavy material to make the backpack? Maybe just to have as a backpack to use, practically I'm so very glad you asked that, Zack, because I've been doing some plans for it myself. About the time the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles started, SIMPLICITY created a do-it-yourself pattern for what is now known to be "the world's worst TMNT costume". The plans for the costume called for a lightweight "shell" made from some rough brown fabric. Now, for the point I'm working towards: I don['t know what this fabric is called--you may have to do some asking around--but it could be used to create the Ghost Pack. (This is, of course, assuming that you don't want the Hammerspace capabilities or the Buster Thruster jetpack of the original. THE GHOST PACK--RECIPE INGREDIENTS: - Two FGB logo drafts for creating the logo (one for "worried", one for "smiling")
- A large quantity of rough brown fabric, or leather if you want to go all the way (this is to create the backpack shape)
- A large quantity of white felt
- A slightly smaller quantity of black felt
- Black fabric paint for the details
- Velcro for the straps
- 1-2 bags of polyfill stuffing
THE PROCESS You'll want to measure across your back first, so that you can figure out the diameter of the Ghost Pack (ideally, this should be about 12-16" across). When you've done that, get yourself a ruler and create a circle of that size on a sheet of preferably blank pattern paper. (NOTE: It would be a good idea for you to draw "slits" within the first circle so that you may include the straps.) Next, you'll want to lay the paper over your sheet of brown fabric. With some kind of a cutting implement (whatever gives you the most accuracy) trace the circle you've drawn, along with the fabric. (You can use the circle to create the "front" section of the Ghost Pack that attaches to the FGB logo.) You will only get one shot at this if you don't have enough fabric, so for God's sake, MEASURE TWICE--CUT ONCE!!!! I'll leave the next part until tomorrow, so that 1) I can get some homework done and b) I can think about the next step--it's going to be very involved. I may even draw up some rough plans...

Sounding good Nix. If I can't get my act together(which is highly likely), I'd love to see someone else pull it off. Not likely they'd be needed, but here's a few okay reference pics. I think I'm gonna go look for some stuff today. It looks like there's of course the pocket pouch on each side and the "detail" strip on the bottom. I can't even remember offhand when they pulled stuff out, they'd just reach back and grab from the top. Wonder how would be the best way to do this. For practical purposes, I guess a zipper would be good? Or just have it velcro'd at the top. Any thoughts?! Guess I should watch more episodes. Or for real life would the bottom part strip be a button snap and the whole logo was a flap that came up to open the bag? Wonder what would be better. I'd probably go a dark red or maroon. Guess I'd have to get there and see what the colors are! Too bad Filmation never made one or any of the other "roleplaying" toys.

Ok I had some money burning a hole in my pocket and couldn't resist buying stuff. Keep in mind, words won't ever say how much of a ROUGH ROUGH thing this is. I got a few dark red tote bags, some white and black craft fabric, some snaps in hopes of making the buttons on the pockets, we'll see. Looking at it now, I really do wanna see this through, there's a lot of work ahead I suppose. Any more thoughts? The ghost is VERY crudely cut in paper over black fabric just to get an idea of what I'm attempting to accomplish. Obviously the final one will be very carefully planned and thought out. I'm thinking the one bag might be long enough. Save for a few animation spots, the packs look to be pretty short. The bag is plenty wide to cut a big circle from and it is probably about 13 inches long. I probably won't do too much until I can figure out how I wanna get started. Take some measurements I suppose. Probably should have waited on Nix to say more ;D
