Oh my God, I don't know why I didn't open this thread before... or anyone else didn't. How did you meet the Filmation's Ghostbusters? I mean both the series. What are your first memories? Your first episodes? Enjoy the nostalgic trip.

Well foy years I had no idea the FGB's existed! My mom took me to a theater that was playing Ghostbusters 1 when I was two, so I guess that's where it started. A couple years went by and I watched RGB every day before school in fact I would be lated sometimes because of it. so it goes on I saw Ghostbusters 2 in the theaters and had all the GB toys imaginable.
Then one night my aunt comes home from her work at the video store, and mind you it was the first video store to open in the state so they would get in all kinds of strange and obscure titles. These were the days before Blockbuster and hollywood video.
So she comes home and tell me hey I brought you a new ghostbuster tape. Now I was totally excited since they had the same three RGB tapes with only one episode each on it that I got tired of renting over and over. So she puts in the tape and just as I am expecting the Ray Parker song to come on I am totally surprised. My aunt continue with hey wait a minute where's Winston where's Ray or Slimer?
Then I just look at her like she is crazy like she committed some severe form of blasphamy. She calms me down and tells me to just give it a chance and watch it since it was her intention to broaden my palette.
As I watch with my little brother tagging along I start to enjoy it more and more especially since the opening scene was at haunt quartes with interaction between FibFace and Prime Evil. I thought that they were some of the coolest villains I had ever seen in a cartoon.
I was in for a big surprise when they showed the GB'S and ghost comand. I was laughing so hard especially at Eddie and Tracy!
Later I thanked my aunt and told her that the other Ghostbusters were just as cool. she later surprised me by brining home four more volumes. The cool thing about FGB is that the tapes had two episodes each as opposed to RGB's one episode per tape.
After that my little brother and I would watch the tapes and act out the whole transformation room sequence as we were watching. We would get a whole bunch of pillows and sheet and carboard boxes to use for the weird stuff in the room and the skelevator. It also gave us an excuse to jump on the bed when we came down the slide like in the show!

My first FGB memories start, oddly enough, with The Real Ghostbusters. No, I'm not crazy--let me explain.
I was only about 5 or 6 at the time. Mom and I were at the recently-opened Windy City Video looking for something to rent, and I found "The Revenge of Murray the Mantis and Other Stories" there to buy for about $2.50. I had it for a while, until one of our VCRs literally ate the tape. I was inconsolable for the longest time after that...and then we were at Gurnee Mills, where they had a KB Toys and a Toy Works at the time. Both offered FGB tapes at two for $5. I kept begging for "Prime Evil and his All-Ghoul Band," only to receive the same line: "They're a ripoff, Nick."
And then there was the hot coffee incident at an elementary school open house night (a third-degree burn on my left arm...or was it my right?) which led to me having to wear a burn cast for a few weeks. Feeling sorry for me, Mom finally caved in and, when taking the VCR to be repaired, bought (a terrible copy of) "A Ghost of a Chance." And the rest is history.

Beautiful post. My personal story is a little different... I do not remember if I saw the cartoon before, but I remember that my mother, on his own initiative, bought me the album of the stickers released in Italy by Panini ... It was a shock ... I remember that every Tuesday we went out (my mother bought the magazines in that day) and every time we bought the stickers, what also helped me to attack... Still remember the beautiful black bag with the symbol of the Ghostbusters. I had no more than six years at the time, speaking of the distant 1986 ...
Do you think the album I have completed only in 1990 when ordered to kind Panini arrears through postal stamps (without adjusting the price among others ...) were so kind that they sent me anyway ...
Another vivid memory I have is that, compared to the first time that they sent them on TV, from the second time the original music was changed slightly ... I do not know if other users Italians have this memory thing ... But, again, between the first and subsequent, the original music changed slightly .... Italianized was ....

Hi everyone! This is my first post. I've watched Filmation's Ghostbusters ever since the 1980's when it was on TV when I was little. I don't know what episode I saw first, I just recall always watching it and loving it as far back as I can remember! I also remember a commercial from that time with GhostBuggy in it. It showed GB sleeping, and how he gets a little grumpy when they wake him up and he knows it's time to go to work One Christmas in the 1990's when the show had been gone for about seven years already, (which seems like FOREVER at that young age), I got some official FGB VHS tapes and I was soooo happy beyond words! And one summer around that time I saw a FGB t-shirt, which also amazed me! For years, I never knew any other merchandise existed - all I knew was that the show was a favorite of mine. Then one day in the 2000's I did an internet search for FGB and learned about the 1975 live action show, which I never even knew existed! I saw pictures from it and thought I would never get to watch it, but still hoped someday I could. Eventually they released 3 DVD sets covering the entire FGB universe, and I also learned about more and more merchandise made in the 1980's for the FGB cartoon. Then one day someone quoted Prime Evil on another message board, and I sent them a message praising them for being a fan, and they told me about this fantastic message board! I'd like to thank them for directing me here, and all the fans for the success of this site. Thank you Prime Good, for giving us FGB fans a place to go!

Welcome to the true Ghostbusters forum Ghostbuggy!
Ok for the most part I missed the whole filmation Ghostbusters as it didn't air where I lived, however the toys were at a Big Lots where I lived. They had Ghost command, Time Hopper, Scare Scooter, Prime Evil, Scared Stiff, Eddie, and Tracy. I thought they were cheap wannabe RGB toys. Anyways I remember seeing the episode Dr. Whatshisname on youtube a year ago. I didn't get it then.
Anyways I ended up seeing the first two episodes of the five parter and then I came here. I was researching the other(Filmation) ghostbusters as I was including them on Ghostbusters Wiki at the time as some sort of remembering thing, since a few loved the series.
Anyways, the rest of this story I'm sure is pretty easy to read in this Forum! lol

I saw the original series the morning of it's premier in 1975, it was vaudvillian but i recognised real potential in it, but i was not too suprised by it's cancellation, it was a good idea they didn't exactly know what to do with.
I saw the cartoon when it premiered in the local market,.
