Hello to all ... For years now (since 1987) look at this picture and asks me: What is the object that Tracy has in his hand? And Jack and Eddie, have TWO dematerialaizers? The dematerializer is not unique? Now you Go-Ers!

Strangely enough, I always assumed they got more than just one Dematerializer... Said that, I think Tracy was using a "Ghost Detector Mic" or something along those lines...

Great post, Scuotiossa! I can't believe all these years I didn't notice the two dematerializers and the object Tracy has! I guess when I was younger I never realized they don't use two dematerializers. But as for the object Tracy has, I like what Prime Good said! Looks possible, judging by the picture, and sounds like a good way of locating ghosts.

The dematerializer is unique for me. Would not otherwise explain how our friends are in trouble when it hurts. However, often mysteriously travels from one backpack to another ... In short, you never know who really took him ...

I might be wrong, but I think there might only be one. As Scuotiossa said, when the dematerializer breaks, our friends are in trouble. They don't just take out another one. And they always speak as if there's only one. (There was only one in the 75 show, but since the 86 show is so different, and not all rules of 75 apply, we will have to discuss this a little more to figure it out Prime Good is definitely right about the Transformation Chamber - how does Tracy fit THAT in there? :-O And has anyone ever seen Tracy use the item in that picture during the show?

Never used that item in the show! The 1975 Dematerializer is very "primitive". The 1986 Dematerializer comes from the Transformation Chamber, and it's far more advanced. In an animated series episode, the "original" Ghost Busters didn't know how to use the 1986 Dematerializer. Again, the Ghost Packs "tap" into a parallel dimensional plane.

Well, mostly it was a white lightning-bolt thing. The green concentric rings were only in for a few episodes. The sound effects were different at times, too. For example, in the one with Morrow and the Roballos, the Dematerializer used a "photon torpedoes" sound effect.

What if the "green vertigo" ray is a quantical consequence of the Fifth Dimension environment, which is different from ours?

Sort of a rgb vibe there.

I knew the 75 and 86 series had two different designs for their dematerizer, but until I saw the pictures posted in this thread, I didn't realize they owned two of them in 86. It's a learning experience here for all of us
