Lol, so many threads about Mysteria and Apparitia, and no love for our beloved safari-themed wizard! Strangely enough, visually speaking, Haunter seems based on the same Ghostbusters safari motif, minus the technologic component. Fascinating. What are his powers? Prime Evil considers him as one of his best "henchmen". DISCUSS!

To help you I write as written on the toy packaging:
Haunter is the classic aristocrat English hunter. Uses his evil power to make bad people.
Its power may be precisely this ...

That means there's an alternate England in the Ghost World! So he just "turns" good people into "bad" people - by hypnosis? Do not forget the "giant hat" for travelling!

No Old Bean, I dear say, More than likely like RGB toy line, they sent in to the toy developers they bible and maybe minor info/corrections about the toys before releasing them. So more than likely the info with the toy is not truly canon. It is based on the series start up concepts and back story. Lots of that wasn't used in the show. As for his power, he has that hat of his.

However good chaps, didn't he use that monocle of his in any of the shows? Could have sworn he did. By the way, a bit off topic, but check out Wikipedia on the Monocle. I find has a bit of insight into the direction the writers of the characters in the show may have been trying to go with in personality to Haunter. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monocle

Reading over some of the back story bible in the Dvd box set PDF, makes you wonder however what it would have been like if they stuck with it. It was more in tune with The Live Action Ghostbusters and RGB's oddly enough. It seemed to be more the comedy of the Live action show, and the scary feel of some of the villians of the RGB's. Also the science still based on magic, but a bit more tied to reality than where the show went. Also Futura was African decent and not purple in the bible. Prime Evil was more like a grim reaper.

I have evidence that the number of toys was created in conjunction with the animated series. In some ways the toys have anticipated the animated series. In short, were based on a prototype of it on the original idea. Even the weapons are different from those of the cartoon, but very similar to those of some preliminary drafts. I believe that the ideas that you can take the series in toys can be very interesting...

Well, I think it has been previously established that the TV series is *CANON* whatever the toyline is a mere spin-off of it (and based on the "Bible" version, which is heavily different from the final product). Remember, this is not 'Masters of the Universe', it's not like the animated series was an adaptation of the toyline, rather the opposite. And that's because FGB was born on TV back in the seventies.
Futura can always be seen as a "descendant" of an African family, however. Why not?

In the epic Second Doctor story "The War Games," the high commanders used monocles and other eyewear to hypnotize their soldiers and erase memories. The effect was similar to a schoolmaster reprimanding or lecturing a student.
