I have an MP3 file from "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf," which features (to my knowledge) the best possible sound clip of the Dematerializer. Don't worry, it's only 20-odd seconds of the whole episode. www.webfilehost.com/?mode=viewupload&id=1002353EDIT: Here is the second clip, from "Dr. Whatshisname." This clip features the sound of the Dematerializer not working right (Kong's got the power too high). www.webfilehost.com/?mode=viewupload&id=1083469It also features the Dematerializer "scan" function towards the end, and 3/4 of the way through you'll hear me say "Yes?" I was answering a question and it somehow got onto the microphone! I'll have to record a better sound sample.

Checking inI have interest in redrawing your designs and giving them color and stuff. I am seeking permission to do that and post the end results to deviantArt (credits for the blue print yours as I'll address that). TY

I'd REALLY like to see them done with a much more "technical" look. Who knows? You might even come into contact with a few electronics wizards who can explain what kind of insides it needs. But be warned: My designs are ever so slightly inaccurate, for, on the actual prop, the left side is slightly longer than the right side. Perhaps this is how it accommodates the spotlight iris' mechanism. Dig out your DVDs of the '75 series, and you'll see what I mean.

Need them to get the colors right, but yeah I'll watch the arms and things.

Sorry, more issues or better yet change of plans... I think based on some of the design specks I have done thus far, Nix is going to have to rethink some of his designs. So here is what I'll do, I'm going to draw a basic design sheet think that will not address construction, but will address the design of the item. Nix then can see what I found and rework it into his construction. Please note, this is not trying to knock what Nix has done, but I am seeking I guess to refine it. I'm learning a lot about the design of the weapon, which could play a roll in construction. Ok back to work for me lol. Ok and now I have something done. Take a look at it. devilmanozzy.deviantart.com/#/d2w80lm

A few things: First, we've already established that the so-called "rotating device" is the GHOST FINDER, which locks on to nearby ghosts. Second, you're going from my prop replica designs. In-universe, the Dematerializer doesn't have a "turn lights on and off" switch. If you're trying to do an in-universe blueprint, you all but have carte blanche for explaining its functions. However, you must mention the "power amplifier" that was referred to in "Mummy Dearest" (it makes sense that the MK-I has one too), and the power source itself, which you can simply call "a black box" because we don't know how it works. Third, the oddly-shaped structure at the top is the CPU, which controls the Ghost Finder's functions and regulates the Dematerializer's power source. (In my mind, they're so careful with it because its battery is remarkably inefficient, and drains after dematerializing one ghost.) Fourth, I told you and everyone else right from the beginning that I have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about as far as designing blueprints goes. My word cannot be taken for the gospel truth. Even with all of that, I appreciate what you're doing. Keep up the good work. I may even try my hand at the MK-II one of these days.

Even with all of that, I appreciate what you're doing. Keep up the good work. I may even try my hand at the MK-II one of these days. I think the big problem for me was understanding what you have been saying. The little bit of text on the image is more like a placemarker, and note it is basically saying what you said on your first draft. The thing I'm focused on is the actually prop, not stories about it, or what all it did in the show. That matters not to me. What I cared about, is did the design in the picture just like the Dematerializer MK I from The Ghost Busters. I was correcting issues like where the wire going from the top to the handlebar were. Lets get one thing straight, and I think Prime Good has picked it up about me theses days: I worry about the facts and getting things looking good and based on facts. I don't worry about what could be or what would explain it since it is not covered. My goal is to give you a better design of D mkI so whatever you decide to do or explain, you will have all the proper design to work off of. I'm not here to tell you to do this and that, I'm here to give you better references to use. I was worried you be offended by the end result. The Go-er Chronology is another project that shows what I focus on. Facts make up a good part of the page. No Fanon and the guessing is based on things plainly seen in the show. I don't inject anything more than what I have to get past a part with. I don't write theories or build up things. If its covered I put it in, if not, then it sits unanswered. That is what I do, It may come off boring or pointless to some, but to me it is like a bible on "what is FGB".

By the way, I like what you did with the ghost finder--I now know how it's supposed to hook onto the...the...I hesitate to call it a kitchen sink hose, but that's what it looks like. I only suggest you call it the "ghost finder" because "rotating device" sounds a bit bland.

My issue is getting all the information together and I can't really read your handwriting so.... Please type a reply with a list of parts on it, Try to explain where it is on the prop design I made. I ain't against labeling it, I just didn't know what they were. Also, you may want to note the reply to the design. Someone is interested in this now on deviantArt. ;D

OK, idea..... My issue is getting all the information together and I can't really read your handwriting so.... Haha, I'm left handed, and was taught to write right-handed. Sooo...Apologies for not being around as much as I would have liked to have been, but I've been trying to find a job and make money. Without money, the Demat MK-I is dead in the water. I will take your concerns into consideration sometime in the near future, Devil. BUT! I have an update for all of you. I was at the mall today, and I wandered into a "seasonal" toy store. I found, in the "shiny toy guns" section, a pistol called the Space Patrol Blaster. It was basically one of those generic space guns made by some Korean company. Pulling the trigger resulted in a sound fairly close to the original Dematerializer's SFX, which I have not been able to source. (Efforts to describe it result in people looking at me as if I've lost my mind.) It's only $7, and should be readily available at (if you're Stateside) K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, your local mall, a flea market, etc. Also, it's got one of those LED spinny things inside it that looks like the Dematerializer's video effect when it spins. Actually, I can see a quite simple reverse-engineering job of the SFB in the future. I would have to take the wires from the trigger and solder them to a standard "push-button" trigger from Home Depot, then rig the whole thing through the PVC tube.

That is what I do, It may come off boring or pointless to some, but to me it is like a bible on "what is FGB". It's a good approach indeed. Everyone can make his final conclusions by himself and "unflub" this or "fix" that by himself. But you're giving them the facts, undeniable and unpolluted. Everytime I concoct a theory or an explanation is to entertain myself or someone else listening and begging for it. I'm not writing a gospel, but I love to provide people with either ON-SCREEN facts and a plausible and logic explanation based on what I can see ON-SCREEN. Sort of Holmes-like deductive ability, if you want. Sometimes my imagination goes a bit further and ahead, but that's part of the fun I guess. Anyway Devil, I pretty much like your scientific approach and I find it as being the correct one for a WIKI system. So hold on and keep the right stuff coming in.

You're the only one in the world to have ever tried to come up with a Dematerializer replica so far. I'm just proud my/our forum ingnited the passion of people like you, Devil and the others, and pushed you to build a true FGB "movement". Thank you!
