At the end of it's run, "The Real Ghostbusters" was called "Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters" and was mainly about Slimer getting intro trouble with dogs and cats. (There were others too, but this is an idea of how different it was.) But sometimes the Ghostbusters would show up for a cameo. Now, I loved it. I loved it because I loved Slimer (still do) and as a kid I enjoyed his adventures. And I never once thought, "Why aren't the Ghostbusters around much?" I didn't mind. Although I was a fan of the show before Slimer took over, too, it was just so much fun when Slimer took over. I still love the "Slimer!" shows today for the same reasons I did then, and one more reason: So many die-hard CGB fans hated when Slimer took over, so when I watch it now, I crack up imagining the fans watching it and getting angry! Having said all that, if there were a show called "Belfry! And Filmation's Ghostbusters" and it was a similar type of show, would you like it? If you could write a little bit here when you vote, that'd be really great, and I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Hahaha this thread is so great! Well, everything would be fine in my book while trying to revive MY FAVE Ghostbusters, so why not... a Belfry show would work as prologue to a new season of Ghostbusters. LOL, in a parallel dimension we just got that...

I'd mainly watch it for FGB. When Slimer got his own 15-minute segment, it served as one of the nails in RGB's coffin. (The other one was the popularity of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.)
The only real problem with the Belfry idea is that he's pretty much there to use his sonic scream and serve as the vessel for the Aesop of the Day--Slimer, too, caused trouble, but at least it was explained with him being a troublemaker by nature. (I admit, though, that I would have preferred Slimer's original function in the Original Real Ghostbusters as "the one that got away": a general nuisance who would throw a spanner into the GB's lives for the lulz.)

Mega-LOL, sounds like the producers of 'Slimer' ripped off this... or what? ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the info, Devil! Mega-LOL indeed, Prime! If the RGB fans hated the Slimer show, boy would they want to stay away from this! I bet I'd love it, though! Devil is always our biggest source of infos.

And I like the point Devil made on the FGB Wiki about the age difference between Belfry and the other Batz! Well much was never explained about Belfry either. I'm sure Lou would have found a way to make it work.

I don't like Belfry very much, but I love Beauregard! So I would prefer »Beauregard! And Filmation's Ghostbusters« ;D However I would watch every show to see the other characters again! By the way, I fell deeply in love with Foxglove! In the german version he's called »Robert Redfox«.
